Abstract: The FePO4·xH2O precursor with mix-doped composite was selectively preciptated prepared from the low concentration iron tailings lixivium by adjusting pH of the solutions. The Ti-Al doped LiFePO4 was successfully synthesized using the FePO4·xH2O as the starting material, by solid-state carbon thermal reaction. The samples were analyzed by chemical titration、XRD、SEM and chargedischarge tests, etc. The results indicated that the LiFePO4 was single olivine structure. The sample showed the first discharge capacity of 144.9 mAh·g-1、132.07 mAh·g-1、122.6 mAh·g-1 and 115.6 mAh·g-1 at 0.1 C、1 C、2 C and 5 C rates, respectively. Also, this method of preparing cathode material LiFePO4 by using iron tailings as raw material are willing to develop a new way for comprehensive utilization of

iron tailings.

Key words: iron tailings; selective iron precipitation; lithium iron phosphate
