Synthesis of Y1.9-XEu0.1BiX(OH)5NO3•nH2O and the Photoluminescence Properties Study

Abstract: We produced LRH(Layered Rare-earth Hydroxide) Y1.9-XEu0.1BiX(OH)5NO3•nH2O by solvothermal reaction. The photoluminescence(PL) were investigated with various concentrations of Bi3+ in LRH codoped with 5at.% Eu3+, the intencity of LRH enhanced significantly at a Bi3+ concentrationof 0.7at.%. The interlayer space enlarged after anion exchange under the condition of microwave. X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy revealed that the LRH nanosheets were composed of crystallites with a uniform crystallographic orientation.The photoluminescence intencity of LRH enhanced significantly due to the antenna effect of organic anion. and the size of obtained nanosheets distributed in the range of 500-1000 nm.
