Abstract: Anorthite crystalline glaze was produced at 1270 ℃ in an oxidation atmosphere by using the surrounding rock of iron ore as the raw material. The composition and microstructure of the anorthite crystalline glaze were characterized by using X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). Anorthite crystals had morphology of plate strip, with aggregate sizes of 100-500 μm on the surface of the glaze layer. Some anorthite crystals were present as the radial structure with grain sizes of 50-100 μm, where the dendrite crystals were grown radially along the nucleus.
