Abstract: Ceramics in contemporary Jingdezhen seems to have declined with the transformation of the industry, but visitors to the city are generally impressed by the sight of inexhaustible vitality in its ceramic manufacturing. What has caused this contrast? What factors have restricted the further growth of this industry in Jingdezhen? This paper investigates these questions and proposes the prerequisites for the further growth of Jingdezhen City and Jingdezhen ceramic industry.
