Abstract: The ceramic cone of a missile’s radome was cracked. The macro-appearance and microscopic appearance of the fracture surface were observed by scanning electronic microscope and energy dispersive spectroscopy. The results show that the fracture mode of the ceramic cone is brittle fracture. The reason for the crack is that the ceramic cone surface has collided with the iron metal block, and the ceramic cone is damaged by the impact, and the crack extends along the axial and circumferential directions respectively. The test results would provide basis for fault analysis.
