Public Expression of Contemporary Environmental Ceramics from the Perspective of Art Anthropology

Abstract: With the development of urbanization, contemporary environmental ceramic art appears more and more in the large-scale public environment and architectural space, thus gradually developing into an independent art language. It has enriched the forms of public art, with more significances and functions. From the perspective of art anthropology, this paper is aimed to analyze the relationships between environmental ceramic art and human beings, nature and society, thus revealing the contemporary cultural significance and social functions. The purpose of this study is to inspire more Chinese art creators to put more efforts in understanding the public role of environmental ceramic art in nowadays multi-cultural society and to guide the development of environmental ceramic art towards the direction with more benefits to the public. Finally, it is expected that the environmental ceramic art will become an important form to promote the development of public culture and an important force to boost the construction of urban civilization.
