Abstract: Calcium phosphate is an excellent inorganic antibacterial carrier, with high temperature resistance and good biocompatibility. Silver-doped calcium phosphate powder was synthesized by using a one-step wet mothed, with Ca(OH)2, H3PO4 and AgNO3 as the raw materials and NH3•H2O to adjust pH value of reaction system. XRD and EDS results indicated that the main crystal phase was tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP), as the Ca/P molar ratio was 1.5, pH value was 7.4. It was found that the release performance of the silver-doped calcium phosphate was strongly dependent on the preparation conditions, the mass of fraction of silver and application environment. The calcium phosphate powder with 3.30 wt.% silver had good antibacterial performance for Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus albus and Bacillus subtilis them, with the average width-diameter ratios of bacteriostatic zone to be 0.317.
