Abstract: Multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were purified by HNO3. The surface of MWCNTs was modified by sol-gel method, using tetrabutyl titanate as the raw materials. The micro-morphology and composition of MWCNTs with modified surface were characterized by TEM and XRD. Besides, the dispersion of MWCNTs in ethanol was studied. The results showed that MWCNTs were effectively purified by HNO3, and nanoscale titanium dioxide was loaded onto the surface of MWCNTs by sol-gel method. The dispersion of MWCNTs in ethanol was improved by the purification process, nanoscale titanium dioxide loading and ultrasonic vibration.
