Abstract:(Ba1-xCax)(Ti0.9Zr0.1)O3 lead-free piezoelectric ceramics were prepared by conventional solid state method. Effects of Ca content on the dielectric properties, piezoelectric properties and microstructure of the as -prepared (Ba1 -xCax) (Ti0.9Zr0.1)O3 lead-free piezoelectric ceramics were investigated using XRD, SEM and other analytical methods. The results show that the crystal grain size of BCTZ ceramic increases first and then decreases. All the samples exhibit a pure perovskite structure and no trace of impurity phase is observed.
