Abstract:(1-x)(Na0.5Bi0.5)TiO3-xBa0.5Sr0.5Nb2O6 (0≤x≤1.0%) (abbreviated as (1-x)NBT-xBSN) lead-free piezoelectric ceramics were prepared by the solid state reaction. The phase composition, microstructure and electrical properties of (1-x)NBTxBSN samples with different BSN content (x=0, 0.1%, 0.3%, 0.5%, 0.7%, 1.0%, in mole) were investigated. It is found that all the samples have a pure perovskite phase structure. The relative density ρr, the piezoelectric constant d33 and the electromechanical planar coupling factor kp increase first and then decrease, while the mechanical quality factor Qm and the depolarization temperature Td decrease with the increase of BSN content. It is shown that ceramics with such a system exhibit diffusion characteristics.
