Abstract: Recent research progress of a new eco- material, woodceramics, was reviewed.Different preparation process es, s election of raw materials and varieties of impregnating agents were discussed in detail. Becaus e of its unusual electromagnetic shielding properties, s ensitivity to temperature and humidity and abrasiveness, as well as unique microstructure, woodceramics will be widely applied as structural and functional ceramics. Finally, prospects of its res earch and application were predicted.
