Abstract: Porcelain sione and porcelain clay are traditional raw mare1ials of ceramics in China, most of them; are derived from acidic hypabyssal)igneous rocks or acidic volcanic rocks through hydrothermal alteration and weathering actions.they are divided into quartz-porphyry type, iclsioe,and stcondary quarlzity types, according to their composition of their original rocks. This paper systematically discusses into concepts of porcelain stone and porcelain clay, their appearance, texture, mineralogical composnition, chemical composition, technological properties, as well as it’s action on ceramic batch composition. The propose of the research is to provide some theoretical evidences for ceramic workers.
