Abstract: The paper was to study on fine powder mixing. The objectives of the project were to set up a mathematical model on mixing and to investi­gate experimentally the wet mixing of BaCO₃ and Fe₂O₃, the raw ma­terials used in the manufacture of ceramic magnet.A theoretical equa­tion, which is used to calculate the degree of mixing --- mixing index, has been derived. From this equation, it is shown that as an excess of minor component is used, the better mixing is achieved. The results of theory and experiment agree with each other very well.
