Abstract:The particle analysis of ceramic raw materials, glazes, and porcelain pigments is one of the important physical properties. The temperature of the liquid is easy to fluctuate, which will affect the density and viscosity of the medium liquid, which will adversely affect the test results. Recently, a new method-optical measurement method has appeared, which can not only be completed in a short time (about 30 minutes), but also because of the small amount of sample required (not more than 200 mg), it can be used in low-concentration suspensions. The fine particles are well dispersed, which improves the accuracy of the measurement. Japan's SKC-2000 particle optical measuring instrument was successfully developed under the cooperation of the University of Tokyo and others. It is made according to the principle of extinction and sedimentation. A beam of small parallel light passes through the suspension, and its optical density is a function of time. The intensity of light penetrating the suspension is weakened by the absorption and scattering of light by the particles in the suspension; the intensity of the transmitted light is related to the projected area of the particles. Its data is obtained from electrical signals, which can avoid human error and has good repeatability.
