The Characteristics and Principles of Engineering Physics Experiment Teaching

PENG Shuxiu

(Basic Course Department)

Abstract:  In the past ten years, the course of physics experiment has been taught as an independent course in engineering colleges. Physics is an experimental science, and experimental teaching and theoretical teaching have the same status. They have not only connection and cooperation, but also their own tasks and functions. The experimental class is a teaching method in which students use experimental methods to observe the movement and changes of phenomena such as force, heat, electricity, light, etc., to gain perceptual knowledge, deepen their understanding or expand the field of knowledge under the guidance of the teacher. It is the beginning for engineering students to receive systematic experimental methods and experimental skills training after entering the university. It plays a role in cultivating students' experimental operation, observation and collection, processing experimental data, describing the experimental process, drawing physical images, etc.; it can also train students The scientific experiment literacy of being serious in everything and seeking truth from facts; it can inspire students' curiosity and is also an effective method for students to conduct scientific research training. Opening this course well to make it regular and scientific will lay a good experimental foundation for subsequent experimental courses and students' future engineering and technical work. As a basic experimental course, it is not enough to achieve the purpose of teaching and improve the quality of teaching. The author believes that it is necessary not only to improve the content and form, but also to study the regularity of experimental teaching, explore teaching principles and methods, and actively reform to improve the quality.
