Abstract: The prosperity of contemporary Jingdezhen ceramic culture is rich and diverse. In such a prosperous and innovative era, Jingdezhen ceramic sculpture art ushered in new development opportunities. It continues to expand its own connotation and extension in inheritance and innovation, absorb new ideas and expressions, and has become a unique contemporary ceramic art in Jingdezhen. In this paper, the background of contemporary Jingdezhen ceramic sculpture art creation is introduced, while the exploration and practice of ceramic sculpture art creation from three aspects were expounded, including the traditional freehand spirit of China, symbols of Chinese folklore and localization art, ceramic materials and concepts. Also, the artistic phenomenon of inheritance and innovation of contemporary Jingdezhen ceramic sculpture were analyzed. The achievements from the theoretical and practical aspects were summarized.
