On the afternoon of July 2, 2023, at 2:00 pm, the inaugural meeting of the first Youth Editorial Committee of the Journal of Ceramics was successfully held at the Xianghu Campus of Jingdezhen Ceramic University. CHEN Yunxia, Vice President of Jingdezhen Ceramic University, attended the meeting. The meeting was conducted through a combination of online and offline methods, with nearly a hundred elected young editorial board members and editorial staff attending the meeting. This meeting was chaired by LUO Linghong, President and Editor in Chief of the Journal Department of Jingdezhen Ceramic University. CHEN warmly welcomed all young experts, congratulated the establishment of the first Youth Editorial Committee, and briefly introduced the development overview of the Journal of Ceramics. She pointed out that the Youth Editorial Committee of the Journal of Ceramics has gathered nearly a hundred young scholars in the field of ceramic materials from numerous well-known universities and research institutes across the country. She hopes that the committee can set sail with determination, progress, and development, conscientiously fulfill its responsibilities, effectively play its role, strongly support journal work, continuously promote the development of ceramic academic journals, and lead the ceramic journal to a new level.
Academician ZHOU Ji and Academician DONG Shaoming, the director of the editorial board of the Journal of Ceramics, sent congratulatory messages online. They pointed out that the Youth Editorial Committee has gathered a large number of young talents in the field of ceramic materials this time, hoping that they will devote themselves to the construction of ceramic academic journals with full enthusiasm and positive attitude. At the same time, they emphasized that the establishment of the Youth Editorial Committee marked a new starting point for the Journal of Ceramics. They hoped that the Journal of Ceramics would continue to carry forward its excellent traditions, continuously achieve new achievements, and make greater contributions to China’s ceramic science and technology industry. Deputy editor in chief XIAO Zhuohao introduced the development process of the Journal of Ceramics, conducted in-depth analysis of the problems existing in the development process of the journal, and proposed targeted countermeasures. At the same time, he gave an outlook on future development ideas and proposed the journal’s short-term goals and plans.
The meeting reviewed and approved the “Constitution of the Youth Editorial Committee of the Journal of Ceramics”, and announced the list of the first Youth Editorial Committee, consisting of 97 members from 50 domestic universities, research institutes, enterprises, and other units. CHEN issued an appointment letter to the young editorial board members who participated offline. At the meeting, the youth editorial board actively discussed and had in-depth exchanges on fulfilling their duties, reviewing the direction of the manuscript, and promoting external publicity.
