The Influence of Chinese Porcelain on European Social Life from the Perspective of 16–17th Century European Oil Painting

Abstract: The 16–17th century was the heyday of Chinese porcelain sales to Europe. Chinese porcelain not only enriches the subject matter of European oil painting, but also changes the aesthetic taste and lifestyle of Europeans, and is also an important medium for European society to understand Chinese culture. This article takes the emergence of Chinese porcelain in European oil paintings during this period as a research object, exploring the profound impact of Chinese porcelain on the culture, aesthetics, and way of life of European society, and revealing the influence of Chinese porcelain on European social life in the 16th to 17th centuries.
