Extended abstract:[Background and purposes] Since the 21st century, as the economic and cultural life of the country has become increasingly prosperous, cultural consciousness and cultural confidence have been further strengthened. The creative transformation and innovative development of the outstanding traditional Chinese culture have emerged as the trend of the times. Artifacts, as typical representatives of outstanding traditional culture, have regained the attention of numerous ceramists. This is not only manifested in the gradual shift of exhibition themes towards the research of artifacts, emphasizing the exploration of the multiple characteristics of "vessels" and the inheritance of the "vessel way" spirit, but also in the fact that ceramic artifacts have gradually become significant artistic expressions in major domestic ceramic art exhibitions. This study provides methodological guidance for contemporary ceramic art practitioners in artifact innovation, facilitating their focus on the cultural nature of Chinese art and in-depth exploration of the unique intrinsic qualities and attributes of Eastern culture, aesthetics and art. Simultaneously, through the cross-integration of disciplines, it aims to achieve an effective combination of ceramics with new technologies, new processes and new materials, and design and create new-era artifacts that meet the requirements of modern life and the pursuit of national modernization, showcasing the Chinese atmosphere, highlighting the Chinese style and promoting the Chinese spirit.[Methods] In this study, three research methods were utilized, including literature analysis, case analysis and interdisciplinary research, to systematically explore the innovative practices of contemporary ceramic artifacts. Through the collection, identification and organization of relevant literature, the literature analysis method is employed to summarize the three main aspects of the innovative practices of contemporary ceramic artifacts. Through the study of typical works and cases, combined with the analysis of form, material and craftsmanship, the specific approaches and methods of the innovative practices of contemporary ceramic artifacts are demonstrated. Through interdisciplinary integration, integrating multi-dimensional perspectives from art studies, materials science, cultural studies and others, it is aimed to provide directional guidance for the modern transformation of traditional ceramic artifacts. This research paradigm allowed to achieve a closed-loop argument from case analysis to theoretical elevation, combining empirical depth with academic innovation.[Results] The appearance of contemporary ceramic artifact works has undergone significant changes. They are no longer confined to the single traditional vessel form but are evolving towards more diverse and rich forms of expression. In terms of artistic form and cultural connotation, they are undergoing a brand-new transformation. Works focus on extracting elements from traditional classics, achieving a reconfiguration of style through the inherent meaning and philosophy of the artifacts. Attentions have been paid to the deconstruction and reconstruction of spatial forms, creating novel compositions of ceramic artifacts. The expressive power of ceramic materials and the application of new technologies have been focused, presenting the conceptual expression of the artifacts.

[Conclusions] Ceramic artifacts are important cultural carriers of the Chinese nation. Throughout the long history, they have absorbed the essence of Taoist aesthetics, Confucian aesthetics and Zen aesthetics, becoming cultural heritages with typical oriental charm and characteristics. In the context of China's modernization construction, this paper is aimed to explore the contemporary proposition of the creative transformation and innovative development of China's outstanding traditional culture. Based on the contemporary perspective and innovative spirit, the artistic phenomena of contemporary ceramic artifact creation were studied. Through three aspects, including the reuse and style reformation of traditional classics, the extraction of real-world elements and the deconstruction and reconstruction of spatial forms, as well as the exploration of material properties and the expansion of material media, in-depth analysis and reflection on the inheritance and innovation of contemporary ceramic artifacts have been conducted. Through the cross-integration of disciplines, ceramics should be effectively combined with new technologies, new processes and new materials to reconstruct ceramic artifacts with the aesthetic style of oriental classics and a new atmosphere of the times.
