The Beauty of the Wine Pot Design in Song Dynast

Abstract: This paper studies the function, shape and decoration of ceramic pots from the perspective of design. It is concluded that the priority of the design for the main body and the components is the function, and the practical and simple style meets the modern requirement of beauty in form: varied but harmonious, proportional and balanced. The glaze decoration is fresh and natural; the overall design of the wine pot, exposed to the influence of Neo-Confucianist thoughts, aesthetically values the well-shaped form of simplicity with the beauty of quietude
