Abstract: The costs of the works of the “Eight Zhushan Friendsf include the investment in material resources, the payments of wages and the expenses on art production, in addition to the consumption of artistic labor. The “Eight Zhushan Friends" were very "generous" in terms of the costs of their works. Their expenses on materials and wages were higher than the costs of those more general painted ceramic pieces. This ensures the quality of their works at the material level. The labor time cost is the quality assurance of their works through craftsmanship.
