Design of Tile Appearance Inspection System Based on Computer Vision

Abstract: To improve the efficiency and the degree of automation for tiles inspection, a kind of inspection system based on computer vision is proposed. The core of the system is an industrial camera. The hardware of the system which includes location detection module and PC control module is developed. The software is developed with C sharp language under visual studio 2008. The software module with the functions of image segmentation and feature extraction is developed through Canny and Ramer algorithms. The experiment shows that the system has high measuring accuracy on dimension parameters of tiles and can reflect the shape characteristics of tiles properly.
