The National Identity and International Vision of Modern Ceramic Art

Abstract: Since the 1980s, modern Chinese ceramic art has experienced nearly 40 years of development. In the context of globalization, how to incorporate their national identity and international perspective in their ceramic art work has become the pursuit of many artists. Starting from the concept of cultural identity, this paper expounds the evolution of ceramic form and aesthetic characteristics, and discusses the dynamic relationship between the national identity and international perspective of ceramic art. Then, from the perspective of cultural consciousness, it discusses the development trend of modern Chinese ceramic art in inheritance and transformation, communication and absorption, and pluralism and coexistence in the context of globalization.
