The Design Features of Pottery Shape in Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties

Abstract: Due to the great differentiation of the social class and the appearance of the etiquette system, the pottery shapes in the Xia, Shang, and Zhou dynasties in China exhibited new design features. The shape designs in these dynasties satisfied the demands for both the spiritual governance and the material life, representing the needs for the sustenance of the civilian class and the slave class.
