Abstract: V-containing ZrO2 yellow particleless ink was prepared using zirconium gallate as zirconium source, vanadium acety lacetone as vanadium source and ammonia as solvent. The compositions of zirconium gallate and vanadium acetylacetonate were determined by infrared spectroscopy. The physical and chemical properties of the ink were tested. The influence of calcination temperatures and holding time on the color performance of the ink was analyzed using colorimeter and X-ray diffraction. The results showed that the ink had high stability and nozzle clogging was avoided. The physical and chemical properties of the inkfully met the requirements of drop-on-demand inkjet printer. After calcinating the ink at 600°C for 120 min, the crystal structure of the vanadium-zirconium yellow carrier was partially stable ZrO2 mixed with monoclinic (m-ZrO2) and tetragonal (t-ZrO2). The b* value of the pigment could reach 50.21 and the optimum color performance was obtained.

Key words: V-containing ZrO2; particleless ink; color performance
