Abstract: BaTi2O5 powders were first synthesized by heterogeneous coprecipitation method. Then, BaTi2O5 ceramics doped with sintering aids CuO and B2O3were prepared by solid state sintering. The phase composition, surface morphology, relative density and electric properties ofBaTi2O5 ceramics doped with CuO and B2O3was investigated, respectively. The results revealed that the relative density of BaTi2O5ceramics doped with CuO and B2O3 sintered 2 h at 1100 ℃ was 96.71%, which was much higher than that of the undoped sample. The grain growth of BaTi2O5 ceramics was more complete. BaTi2O5 ceramics had good ferroelectric hysteresis characteristics. At 1KHz, the dielectric constant of BaTi2O5 ceramics was about 71.96. All the results above showed that the adding of composite sintering aids CuO and B2O3ould promote the liquid phase formation and reduce the porosity, thereby improving the density and the dielectric properties of ceramic.
