Abstract: Porous ceramic materials achieve heat insulation by the low thermal conductivity of gases in the closed pores within the ceramic matrix and the ceramic materials’ own low thermal conductivity. They have been widely used in many fields, such as construction, aerospace, and warehousing, machinery. This paper introduced the manufacture methods, insulation mechanism, research situation and the methods of studying the conductive process of porous insulating ceramics.
