Abstract:Using low-priced commercial powders, such as Y2O3(99.99%), Nd2O3(99.999%), Al(NO3)3•9H2O(99.0%) as raw materials, ethanol as dispersion, titrating at the speed of 30 ml/min, Nd:YAG ceramic nanopowders were prepared by anti-titration co-precipitation method. The as-prepared nanopowders were characterized by DSC-TG, XRD and FTIR. The results indicate that by the powders synthesized at about 900 ℃ by co-precipitation method exhibit pure Nd:YAG phase, and the powders obtained at 1000 ℃ have uniform grains, good dispersibility, a small particle size of less than 100 nm. From press-formed YAG green sheets of these powders, YAG transparent ceramics were prepared by sintering at 1780 ℃ for 8 h in vacuum.
