Abstract: The uvarovite green ceramic pigments were synthesized through the solid-state method. The effects of six unitary and two composite mineralizers on the performance of uvarovite green ceramic pigments were investigated.The as-synthesized samples were characterized by XRD and chromatometry. The most appropriate mineralizer and the best doping amount were decided. Results show the effects of the mineralizers decrease as follows: CaF2+CaCl2>CaF2>Na2SiF6 >NaF>CaF2+KNO3>CaCl2>H3BO3>KNO3.The pure crystal phase of Ca3Cr2(SiO4) can be synthesized and the pigment exhibits the best color with the a* value at the optimal -23.52 when 6% of composite mineralizer CaF2+CaCl2 (the mole ratio is 1∶1) is added.
