Abstract:This article is to review the research progress on the effects of additives on the properties of magnesium titanate system ceramics such as their sintering process and their dielectric performance. The results indicate that doping with oxides and frits like Bi2O3-V2O5, Co2O3, ZnO could lower the sintering temperature of the ceramics by varying degrees. The dielectric constant of Mg2TiO4 ceramic could be adjusted by doping it with different additives to meet the application needs of lowpermittivity materials. Doping different additives into MgTiO3 ceramic could adjust its dielectric constant and obtain the magnesium titanate dielectric ceramics with a high Q×F value and a τf value of nearly 0. Current Research shows that modification by doping is a powerful method of obtaining the material with required properties, and one of the future directions is in optimizing the properties of the magnesium titanate system ceramics.
