Abstract:With hydrochloric acid as a decomposition agent, ethylhexanol as an extractant, and kerosene as a diluent, boric acid was extracted from low grade Kuandian szaibelyite from Liaoning by using the combined method of extraction and leaching. The amount of boron and magnesium in the sample was determined respectively by ion exchange separation, acid-base titration and complexometric titration. Optimized processing parameters are obtained through a series of experiments, and they are as follows: reaction temperature 95℃, reaction time 60 min, oil:water:solid=4:3:1, 1.05 times the theoretical acid value, extraction times 4-6, thinner:extractant=1:1. Using these parameters, the decomposition rate of MgO and B2O3 can reach 95% or more and the boric acid yield after four extractions can reach 90% or more.
