Evolution of Jingdezhen Ceramic Jiggering Technique in Ming and Qing Dynasties

Abstract: Some traditional porcelain manufacturing techniques in Jingdezhen were slowly altered or even failed to be handed down with the development of society for a variety of historical reasons. In this paper, characteristics and evolution of Jingdezhen ceramic jiggering technology in Ming and Qing dynasties are studied based on the theorization of porcelain making technology in ancient ceramic books, and confirmed and discussed from archaeological excavations of Jingdezhen kiln sites and modern science and technology analysis.
