Abstract: In this work, TiB2-TiCx and SiC-TiB2-TiCx multiphase ceramics were fabricated by in-situ HIP synthesis. The oxidation behavior of these composites was tested. The results show that the oxidation resistance of the composites is greatly improved after adding SiC. SiC-TiB2-TiCx ceramic composites can be used at 1200℃ in the atmosphere, while their TiB2-TiCx counterparts can only be used at 700℃. Moreover, the oxidative weight gain of SiC-TiB2-TiCx is much lower than that of TiB2-TiCx after long time oxidation (especially for 1800min) at lower than 1200℃.
