Abstract: The alkaline solid polymer electrolyte (ASPE) is a kind of novel electrolyte.Recently，the res earch of ASPE has absorbed many persons' attention as for its unique characteristics such as lighter mass, easier film- forming, better vis co- elasticity and stability etc. which are absent from conventional inorganic and organic solvent electrolytes. In this paper, the character, ion conductibility of ASPE and the technique for improving its properties as well as its application were reviewed. The prospects of ASPE were also dis cuss ed briefly.
