Abstract: Colour generation effect of rare-earth elements and the phase change process of group colourant zircon pigment have been investigated.From crystal construction and spectroscopy char­acteristic,colour generation mechanism of zircon rare-earth ceramic pigment has been discussed. Latice constant,lattice distortion and spectra-reflectance of Zr_1-(x+y)Cr_xPr_ySiO₄ have been studied by using XRD interior label method.It is found that Pr³⁺ion makes lattice expand,causing distortion and leading to changes in optical property.
