Abstract: The paper briefly traces back to the aesthetic views about the "beauty of simplicity" in ancient China, and demonstrates the art of the blueand-white porcelain with the aesthetic characteristics of freshness, liveliness,simplicity, and elegance, and shows our consciousness of the traditional appreciation of beauty. Finally it also points out that these characteristics are mainly influenced by the classic aesthetic views by Zhangz's "simplicity is beauty" in the aesthetic of Taoist school.
