Abstract: Several different methods of green body loading and kiln setting were first introduced briefly,most of them were discovered during the autumn of.1981 under an investigation program for the Hutian kiln site.Saggers used in the period ofA.D.907-1620 were then studied by chemical analsise X-ray diffraction analysis, micro polari scopy and refractoriness testing. With reference to the sagger -making process in 1950s,some considerations may be obtained.
