Abstract: The well known Jingdezhen Kiln, or 'Zhen Yao'for short, bolds a pre-eminant position among the classical porcelain kilns of the world.Dissected in this paper is the structure of this kind of kiln, both Iiterarily and graphically. Its masonary method has been explained, and its characteristics in the structure and the masonary technique have been pointed out, such as those of the tall brick shell construction roof, the hyperelliptic arch-ring shape, the taperingarchring composite structure, the brick bond of tripod-supported archrings without immovable bearers,the allocation of the movable supports and of the thin chimney wall, etc. And the technical subtlety and easonableness of these characteristics have all been proved theoretically.
