Abstract: Sketch is an essential course taught in art schools. It has contributed a lot to the development of realist art along with its many complicatons. Since abstract art has become popular today, our sketch teaching should be considered both as an element of our socialist art and a basic course of training, to meet the purposes of developing our realistic art and helping the students to master the thorough basic skills of framing and painting. There is still a long way for sketch to substantiate itself in content, so we should critically assimilate what is good forour art education in order to develop a new style of our own.
