Abstract: With the polycondensates of methyltrimethoxys ilane ( MTMS)as film forming materials , the boehmite sols (prepared by aluminium isopropoxide) and s ilica sols (hydrolys is products of Tetraethylorthos ilicate (TEOS)) as inorganic reinforcing materials , The abras ion - res is tant film of methyls ilicone modified by boehmite and s ilica sols on polycarbonate (PC) was prepared through the co- condensation reaction, and the properties and s tructure of the hybrid thin film were s tudied by TG/DTA, FTIR, UV- VIS, metallographic microscope and pencil tes t. The results show that the cros s - linked inorganic s tructure endcapped with organic groups on the PC forms by the co - condensation reaction between methyls ilicone, boehmite and s ilica sols , whose base backbone is Si- O- Si, Si- O- Al, Al- O- Al network s tructure. With increas ing of boehmite sols , the property of heat - res is tance and hardnes s of film is improved. The hybrid film has a little influence on the transmittance of light, whose chief role is reflection reduction. The addition of boehmite sols make the surface of film rough.
