Technological Innovation Trend of Glass-ceramics: A Study Based on Patent Information Analysis

Abstract: Glass-ceramics have been widely used in the fields of chemistry and chemical engineering, building materials, aerospace, biomedical, energy conservation and environmental protection with good mechanical, thermal, chemical, electromagnetic, optical and biological properties. Based on the IncoPat Patent Information Retrieval and Analysis System, 36599 patent applications on glass-ceramics were analyzed from the aspects of application trend, geographical distribution, patent types from China, the United States, Germany and Japan as well as the important applicants and technology composition. It is of great significance for researchers and related functional departments to accurately grasp the status of patent application in this field, identify the research hot spots and judge the future development trend.
