Abstract:  Having made the correction and addition to the Davis theory, deduced the separating angle (α₂) of  the  mill charge  of inner  layer is 72° 29'. The operating  speeds of  two  mills have also  been  deduced  on  the basis  of maximum  power  and  work  done of  the mill charge  whereas,  the  operating speed  of  the  ball mill deduced  according  to  maximum  work done is similar  to  the  practical  operating speed of a small ball mill.
