A Method of Datahanding by Calculator for Standard Addition Potentiometric Analysis

Abstract: A method of data-handing by calculator for standard addition potcntio­metric analysis has been suggested in this paper. It is applicable for either single or multipple standard addition. The principle of calculation is as follows: based on the equation of concentration for single standard addition, a approximate concen­tration is at first calculated, it is then subsititutcd into relevant equation, and a se­ries of the approximate concentrations of the solution to be added are obtained. By linar regression the slope of stright line and correlation coeffincient are found out. Absolute value of the slope is the electrode slope S, which is subsitituted into the concentration equation of single addition method to calculate concentration value that is accurater than before one. This cyclic calculation is repeated again and again. When the relative error between two concentration values is less than a given value , the final outcome is printed at last. In the paper the method of dataharding is verified fo be corrcct by experiment.
