Abstract: Laser additive manufacturing has a variety of advantages, such as high efficiency, high material utilization ratio, high dimensional precision and good shape adjustability of products. Therefore, it is a promising approach to fabricate three-dimensional transition-metal-based materials, with controllable structure, high specific surface area and excellent sensor performance, with the assistance of surface modifying technology. This article is aimed to review laser additive manufacturing, surface modifying method and sensor performance of three-dimensional transition-metal devices.

Key words: three-dimensional transition-metal-based device; laser additive manufacturing; selective laser melting; surface modification; biosensors
