Abstract:  Ancient color is one of Chinese traditional ceramic painting forms. Its development stalled for some reasons at one time. However, the continuous influence and infiltration of the contemporary art since 1980s greatly promote the innovation in the traditional enamel painting in ancient color. This paper intends to analyze the evolution of ancient color decoration from the perspectives of form and culture in the context of the contemporary art.
