Abstract: Famille-rose porcelain is one of the famous four traditional ceramics from Jingdezhen. This paper briefly introduced the definition of famille-rose and the research and development of non-toxic famille-rose pigments. The inheritance of famillerose technology and the education status quo in this field were also observed. Styles of famille -rose decoration and technical developments in different periods were summarized. It's concluded that the innovation and further development of famille-rose porcelain need the cooperation between the ceramic artists and materials scientists, and the primary task is to produce non-toxic famille-rose pigments.
