Abstract: Porous ceramics are now expected to be used for a wide variety of industrial applications as filtrations, heat exchangers, catalyst supports and piezoelectric devices, etc. This paper reviews the recent progress in preparation technology of porous ceramics, briefly introduces its general classification and application, and discusses the issues to be solved for further activating the potential of porous ceramics and expanding their applicability.
