Abstract:The 8mol% yttria-stabilized zirconia thin films were fabricated by tape casting. The effects of different factors including ball milling time, solid loading, organic doping content and deairing process, on rheological behaviors of 8YSZ ceramic slurries were investigated,. The surface morphology of the sintered body was observed by SEM and the electrical conductivity was measured by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. It's found that the optimum dispersion effect can be achieved when the amount of dispersant is 1.25wt%, and the ball milling time is 15h; when the ratio of plasticizer and binder is 0.7, and 6.5~8.5wt % of binder is added, the slurry is optimum for tape casting by vacuum defoaming process after 24h of milling. The sample has a clear boundary and high density after being sintered at 1450℃ for 4 hour. It presents a good electric performance with the increase of the temperature and the electrical conductivity is 0.046S/cm at 800℃.
