Abstract: A filter mainly composed of porous ceramic tubes is proposed in this paper. The performances of the filter were tested by fuel gas from biomass fluidized bed gasifier, and the influences of fuel gas flow rate, fuel gas temperature and filter blowback have been investigated. The results show that, the filter efficiency is as low as 76.2% and the pressure drop of the ceramic tube significantly increases with the fuel gas flow rate accelerated. It takes only 900s for the pressure drop to rise from 3000Pa to 10000Pa at the fuel gas flow rate of 14.8Nm3/h. The filter can regenerate well through blowback but hardly functions in low-temperature fuel gas because of tar.
