Abstract: Iron -compound is one of the chief harmful constituents in kao. in.In general, its content is slightly higher in kaolin in South China. This paper lays emphasis on the exploration of the basic type, metallogenetic mechanism of the cohesive state of iron-compound in the c;ranitic weathered-type kaolin in South China, and of its chief characteristics. Based on the above, the paper also presents the industrial classifications of the cohesive state of iron-compound.Such classifications provide practical uses in improving the deferrization process in porcelain clay and its deferrization efficiency.

Keywords: Iron –compound, metallogenetic, deferrization efficiency.
